Love Affliction Poem by Kingsley Egbukole

Love Affliction

Years ago
Afflicted with your potent charm I was
The virus ate deep to my marrows
Ravaged my tender reasoning cells
Left me weak and surrendered
To the power of love

Years after
No better I am
The situation is deteriorating
And I am bedridden
In your hospital of love

The arms and legs cannot move
From the house of love
The voice is too weak to protest
The ears hear nothing but love
It is chronic and malignant
I am incapacitated to fight it
But I have no regret
Because I don't really want to fight
It is a sweet infection
Those who feels knows.
