Love and Work await me in 2020
-Gayathri B. Seetharam
The Canadians are a misunderstood nation
For their unique individuality is, at times,
Lost in the powerful arm wielded by
Big Brother, USA,
And the Queen of England who queens it
Over all things and all people Canadian;
And in this Canadian city, Toronto,
I begin at the tail end of 2019 and the onset of 2020
A Winter's Tale which is
Much Ado About Nothing
But As You Like It,
The Taming of the Shrew
OR The Midsummer Night's Dream
OR Love's Labours Lost;
I have no clue what the future
Holds for the career oriented self in me
I saw a bouquet of red roses
And thought that they symbolize love
For if a rose has curves and folds,
Love has a steady pace;
"The waltz of the mind and heart"
Would be shaken from its equanimity
If I suddenly tried the tango with my husband
But I can aim to try the wild, passionate dance with
My endeavours and efforts.
