Carrion dreams wreck the night
Vessels crash and burn
While i am weightless
Drawn by the magic of catcalls
A single sound stirs my yearning
I turn and smile enveloped in joy
At being noticed
Years pass and others notice too
Too often too much too incongruent
I turn no more
The sound tainted by the realisation that they notice
But do not see
My limbs grow weary
Spent with mindless floating
Through dreary days
And longer nights
Weighted with grief and mourning
Love does not live here anymore
There are no banners or streamers or wild cries at the staying or the leaving
Just silence punctuated with unspoken dreams
A bittersweet liberation
Short lived and stained
By malice and resentment
Love does not live here anymore
