Paused Poem by Dianne Williams

Paused

Rating: 5.0

Reflections of a splintered mind
Run the pages off
Muddy footprints trace dismembered memories
And can their laughter for those who need the sound
There are no ears that hear or eyes that see
Darkness lives in the light
whilst crevices reek with the stench of beings and thoughts and love
Discarded

In the debris and rubble lies a messy pile of littered hearts
Crumbled, torn, pulled apart
Broken
Bent
But not dead...
YET
Paused at exits planned and taken but not completed
Life moves while we stand, sit, lay
Still
I crave the pieces of light, the taste of whole heart in my throat till I gape with love, spent, happy, bliss.
Where are the pieces now?
Gone
With her.

Both of your poems so far reflect sadness and pain, yet both are very well written. You show some great promise as a writer. Welcome to Poem Hunter!

Insightfully conceived in persuasive poetic expressions with conviction. A beautiful work of art, very heartfelt. Thanks for sharing, Dianne.
