Love Game Poem by Maddie 'Rae' Berry

Love Game

Rating: 4.5

What is this to you?
What am I?
A game?
Am I mere toy for you to play and discard?
You must assume it so, you blur what I know.
Do you even know what I’ve held below?

Your ruthless, unkind you've driven me out of my mind.
You don't really know me; you don't try too and why should you?
That's what I know is true, I’m not the one for you.
Because your naivety blocks you out from what others are feeling.
This is no crush I'm dealing, this is a full blown out feeling
of which your rumours have no meaning.

I do not love him like you have believed I should, I don't believe I ever could.
He's a friend; your fictional romance between us is pretend.
All I want is your rumours to cease, please.
My love cannot be swayed; it is displayed for a soul less obvious as it is ruthless.
Can't you see past your pretty brown eyes that it is you that I desire?
Not him, but you, can't you get the clue?
You oblivious, self centred git!
Must I shake your head for these words to get through, I'm crazy for you.

But you'll never see what you mean to me, I can't get it past your oblivious eyes.
No matter how hard I try, so I ignore your false lie and wait for the day.
The day when you look into my heart and realise you are tearing it apart.
