Love Has Let You Go. Poem by Thomas Northx

Love Has Let You Go.

Rating: 5.0

I never thought this day would come,
when I would say goodbye.
Where silence spoke the loudest words,
and wells of love ran dry.

I carried hope unto the end
while love did ebb away.
Changing what was left of me,
with nothing more to say.

And both of us were quite aware,
The love I learned was pain
watching love beat and bruise,
I began to love the same.

A love that hurts is not love,
It's love disguised by fear,
then fear begins to think control
Is enough to keep you here.

Seven years as I stood by,
and loved you from afar,
Silence was your sole response,
Fair yet very hard.

And since I truly loved you,
I'd rather show than say,
watch and you will see the words,
as I turn and walk away.

Deep sad feelings nicely expressed in persuasive expressions with conviction.

Bittersweet love, though the speaker has learned.
