Love, Hold Me Somehow Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Love, Hold Me Somehow

Love, hold me somehow
in your gentle embrace
that eases my worries
yet makes my heart race

Love, hold me somehow
and fill me with passion
and ease the heartbreak and pain
that affects my every action

Love, hold me somehow
and be my shield
of all the sadness
that life has revaled
and left me broken
and unhealed

Love, hold me somehow
Find me and reach me someway
So I might live again
in your heart
and find joy
in your way

Love, be gentle and caring
and with me stay
never my love
be led, or let me go astray
because come what may
I'll love you everyday

May God forgive our mistakes
and heal the heartbreaks
replacing emptiness with a home loving and strong
I pray that it's time is near
and that the wait won't be long.

Love, be honest and true
let me know you're not just a dream
be my moon, my stars and my sunbeam
because sadness has got me
and lonliness has had me
and abandonment breaks
but somehow I know you feel me
from accross the room

Love, hold me somehow
and don't let me go
I have something inside I want you to know
and only you will feel safe
when I'm in your arms
without fear of life's harms
I need you to know

Love, hold me somehow
because anohter minute I can no longer wait
Life's running down and its getting late
all I wish for is a clean slate
and with you celebrate
and forget the ones
who injured me with coldness
and with neglect, malice or hate

Love, hold me somehow
in your gentle embrace
that eases my worries
and makes my heart race
