I watched a love
Break like glass
I've seen the tragedy
Of when it all crashed
Spent too much time
Trying to run from the past
I've felt the sadness
Knowing love won't last

I watched the deepest passion
Slowly die
I've seen the look of emptiness
In a widow's eyes
I've heard the love song
That made my mother cry
Because it reminded her
Of when he was by her side

I've cried a thousand tears
For a love I'll never know
And I'll break a thousand hearts
With the love that I won't show
Because I've learned
Too many years ago
That love hurts
When you let it go
