Nothing intoxicates like love impassioned
No wonder, immortals woo mortals damned,
Even courting damnation in the course hallowed
The illimitable, in passion unbound, shrank downward
And opted to take upon Himself bonds of Creation manifold
The entire Universe sprang up out of love infinite
The Lord was lured into romance wild with humans
In readiness to share the human agony unrelieved
Intoxicated love glorious prompted self-extinction exalted
Releasing a flood of light, infinitely infinite
