Love Is A Couch Poem by King Crow

Love Is A Couch

I stare at the ceiling and watch the fan spin
Thoughts of you like always come creeping in
Sounds of your laughter echo through my head
It's just the sad remnants of a love that is dead

Why can't it last forever like with Gramps and Nan
We always seem to diverge from our master plan
Vowing to stick together no matter what happens
Then comes the minutiae of life and all of its trappin's

I remember once you saying loves cost is too high
I wondered why you would say it but now I know why
Like buying a couch on credit what could go wrong
You always end up paying for it long after it's gone

It feels so damn good when it caresses your butt
But day after day you keep digging the rut
After a while you don't care if the dog comes to lay
Cuz you're just sitting there watching TV anyway

But it's nice when it's new, no chance you'll regret it
One day you'll learn Love is a couch you buy on credit
That's what I think about here in my crazy head
Looking at the sad remnants of a love that is dead
