When young I fell in love four times a day.
I was more careless then and desperate
With little thought or heed of come what may
When braving reticence to date and mate.
Often I saw a flash of eye that shone
When cheeks' or necks' emblazoned blushes dimmed
And schemed of pillow buddies deftly won
And lobes and napes with kisses over-brimmed;
But as supposed eternal summers fade
I chide myself that truth and wisdom show
Deep seekers such as you are born not made
And love is only love when love can grow.
And so each quarter day I stop to see
Your kindness, laughs and hugs give life to me.

Eternal summer does fade if love became a vain glorification of beauty. A thing of inner and outer beauty is a joy forever. A nice poem well articulated and penned with insight. Lovely indeed. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
