Love Laments Poem by Sujoy Bhattacharya

Love Laments

A lewd look
A profligate sensuality.
Greedy cast paralyzes my supple limb.
Love of the sky for the horizon.
Love of the wasp for the jasmine.
Love of the moon for ocean waves.
Deplorably absent among today's lovers.
Love of the wind for the flaming fire,
Love of the mind for the fancy,
Love of the ripples for the gleaming moon,
Love of the sun for the tiny plant
neglected in the grove,
Love of the dew drops for the thirsty leaves,
have lost charming effect fetid mentality.
Love is not beauty to cancered souls,
Love is not worship to the worshippers of vanity vain.
Love is now a commodity -
A saleable thing in the market of voluptuous lust!
Love instigates to mute the sacred flute.
Love is molested for material cravings.
Love is prisoned in the dungeon of earthly avarice.
Captive love suffocates -
Will we allow it to die?
Or let it live ti ensure our existence!
