Love Like A Dog Poem by Randy McClave

Love Like A Dog

A dog will lovingly lick your face
While not caring about your race,
And no matter what you might say or do
A dog will always love you.
It will proudly stay at your side
And it will lay wherever you have lied,
And it will walk with you wherever you might go
Even through the rain, or the snow.
A dog will never lie or cheat
Even when new people it might meet,
And it will always remain your very best friend
Until the very end.
It doesn't care what you watch on the telly
As long as you rub its belly,
And it's not worried about the clothes you wear
Or the color of your hair.
It will always come to your door
Even if you are not rich, but very poor,
And a dog is always unconditionally loyal
Upon any kingdom or soil.
And when you become sick, old or gray
From you side your dog will not ever stray,
And a dog will never seek another master
Even after a terrible disaster.
When a dog gets lonely it'll scratch it fleas
Whereas many woman will just tease,
They want to be always on a man's mind
No matter how good they are treated or even how kind.
A dog can tell if you're heaven sent
But, not by a perfume, but only by a scent,
And a dog doesn't like to be hurt or used
And it too will growl and whimper if abused.
A dog has been given such a terrible rap
As I peacefully pet one with its head on my lap,
And as I finish writing this somewhat epilogue
Oh how I wish I knew a woman with the characteristics of a dog.
