Love Lost, Love Found Poem by Oluwaseun Oshamiluyi

Love Lost, Love Found

I met her at my hostel
So Pretty and calm
Spinning around in her short blouse
Her sandals carefully strapped to feet
Both hands spread in the sky
And her face reflects the sun rays
She looks elegant

I saw her with her friends
They are no match
She's so full of life and she lightens up the geng
Her beautiful smile do no justice
She is a beam of light
An icing on a cake of joy

I have seen her for months
No woman comes close
No one beats the Beauty
Or bears the bounty
She was perfect

I fell in love with her
It was love at first sight
I pretended, I lied to myself
I told myself"it's just a phase "
For months I would see her and look away
My heart hurting every second like I hold my breath so long

I'm in love with this girl
I walk up to her
My heart in my bare hands
Fear gripped
Scared I'd not be what she wanted
Scared I'd get hurt
But courage sets in
"Do you stay in the hostel", I asked with a grin on my face
Prayer in my heart
Anxiety ripping me off

She nodded with a smile on her lips"yes" almost silently
And that's the beginning of us

Now it's like yesterday when you told me you loved me back
It was like yesterday when I promised you forever
Just like yesterday I swore to always be in your presence and still I don't think I have enough of you
I want to shower you with care, love
I just want more of you
I'm in love
You tick all my boxes
You're who I have been looking for
