Love Of An Infidel Poem by Dibakar Purkayastha

Love Of An Infidel

First sunshine of dawn fallen on her rosy cheeks, While
lousy dreams of last night she had on her face but,
her eyes contained blue of morning sky
She outstretched a red rose in her tender hand with a smile on her lips
'My name is Neelakhshi Parveen Mita' She muttered.
With these words she blew into flame of
Smouldering love in my heart, gave hope
Of her weavering mind and loosened the time of shame
Oh lord! What an ecstatic smile she had!
At once this infidel loved her.

Loose end of her saree blown in hot air of afternoon,
when she came to me,
All red water lily spread over the doe eyed water,
where we bathed together
She came down like confetti of flower patel
inside my bosom,
I kissed her hot passionate lips.
Will thou know the guerdon of love?
Oh Lord! This infidel loved her at once.

She wailed pearl with her tears,
splashed the path I came through,
She blown name of all Gods
covering parrot tree towards sky of west,
where time dropped down like confetti
over blue Meghna river
She had stolen first my heart, now let her
hold it and keep it there in her tomb.
Oh my lord! This infidel loved her forever.
