I look at you and wish
Wish that this would work
For somewhere down this road
I know you’ll end up hurt

Unlike the rest of them
You’re perfect in and out
I long for there to be chemistry
Of that, there is no doubt

If love is an ability
Then why am I unable
To love you like I want
Put my heart upon the table

I can’t make something appear
When there is nothing there
This is a love of only friendship
One heart we’ll never share
