My heart is yours,
I gave it freely to you.
You saw me in the Spring,
by fall my heart was true.
The birds they sang a song,
when we strolled amongst the trees.
You stole many kisses,
under a shaded, leafy canopy.
My heart soared into the sky.
You asked me on that day.
I accepted to be your bride.
The birds overhead began to play.
You promised me the sun,
along with the stars and moon.
Reality turned a young girl,
into a woman far too soon.
In your face I see a trace,
of the love I used to know.
My eyes peer into yours,
my love continues to grow.
Now I smile in spite of things,
that have become impossible to be.
I wake up wanting something more.
Than a tryst amongst the trees.
