Today I have forgotten how to speak
I keep blending my words with Spanish ones
Out of my control
The sounds of the words I adore
Bounce endless romantic echoes in my mind
It is the loss of control which baffles me
As I talk I can't decipher my own voice from far away songs
My tongue in English diplomacy
But in my head a Spanish vocal presence
My voice overpowered by the voice of a love letter in rhythm
Which jumbles my words and takes over my common sense
Perhaps because
I can't get you out of my mind
Every thought of you comes
With the passion of Spanish symphonies
Your existence is a love song for me
We have lost the boundary
Where you and I are two separate beings
The love that lives in your heart overflows
And the Spanish song your heart sings
Confuses my ears as your own
Your voice carries to my every current place
No matter the distance
So today
The beauty of this love has taken away my ability to speak
