Love Sonnet 203: 'When I, The Passing Night Would Now Review'

When I, the passing night would now review
When you were in my arms, of love replete,
And which by such, I only could construe,
No other night transpired by half as sweet;
The moon has wasted all its beams unseen,
The shooting stars, unwatched, if one still flies,
Hope they did not begrudge the way I’ve been,
Engrossed with something else, that is, your eyes;
But many nights, so clear, the skies were ours,
We claimed the galaxies and all the stars,
And even Time did stop for us the hours,
As we lie on the grass, as though Love Czars;
……..Alas, the passing night gave way to Dawn,
……..And left but crumpled grasses on the lawn.
