How do I start this journey to your heart?
From charts or auguries for direction?
Should thousand ships from port with me depart,
Yet East or West, where lies your affection?
As steepest slope, ravines or swiftest stream,
May stand before my dream of climb so grand
For foremost peak, that niche in your esteem,
Where Heaven might be reached by my stretched hand;
Frontiers may lie, to quest for wealth or fame,
Rivers to ply, and prairie trails to blaze,
All but to trace a way back where I came,
Your very same front door where ends the maze;
.....No more would wander I, mile after mile,
.....Should signs portend for me stay awhile.
