Love Story (5) (Meritorious Deed) Poem by U Win Kyi

Ther was a couple of lover,
loving each other for about 8 years.
One day, they were riding a motorcycle
which ran into another vehicle,
causing them sustain injuries so severe.
They were sent to a nearby hospital.
The boyfriend died of severe injury.
The girlfriend was left with misery.

They planned to marry in about 1 month.
Upon hearing the news everyone's heart had sunk.
They were compensated NT$ 8 millions by insurance company.
No amount of money could make her happy.

She paid back 2 millions for home mortgage.
She spent 1 million to cremate
the dead boyfriend as her heart ached.
Then the rest 5 millions, she planned to donate.
She deposited it in a bank to generate
the annual interest of 100,000 dollars,
to be given to children, much poorer.

Her meritorious deed
for her boyfriend deceased,
deserved applaus indeed.
