Lover's Dream World Poem by james watkin

Lover's Dream World

Above the water, human-faced
Below, a mermaid.
Is how I've pictured the swimmer
In you, unafraid.

This side of tree shades, human-flushed
And that, a wood-sprite.
Bold then shyer, again how I
Have so make believed
What, giving chase, is never grieved
Despite, oh, despite!
