Lovers Meet Poem by Maureen Pickford

Lovers Meet

Rating: 4.5

Through the dappled shade I explored the ways
Of my new garden. Warm air stirred sweet scent
From all the roses, their silky heads bent
Against the heavy, sultry summer's day.

A new home but now miles and miles away
From your dangerous love and all it meant.
I'll miss you dearly but had to prevent
Feelings being found out along the way.

As I walked along the gravel path
I came across a perfect specimen
Of a rose, a deep peach, and it did have
A printed name tag attached to its stem.
I bent down to breathe in its scent so sweet.
I read the words my dear. It said, 'Lovers Meet'.

A lovely romantic poem, well articulated and nicely penned to capture the essence of the piece and the poet's conviction. A good piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
