Loving Tears Of A Brand New Love Poem by Melody McKinstrie

Loving Tears Of A Brand New Love

I could try to reinvent the wheel.
But would that not be just futile?
I could say my love is brand new.
And indeed that would be true.
As it is new to me and you.
But as much as creativity
Will allow
I will try to make it special
Somehow!

I will look upon you
With shining eyes.
And in each view
A newly minted
Tear or two
May fall.
Did you know that
Tears are not alike?
Indeed they are unique.
Much like raindrops
And snowflakes
Each tear is tied
To an emotion.

A tear tied to love!
I would not want that patent.
For the world could ill afford
To lose it's license.

I do not need to reinvent the wheel.
I just need to show my love with zeal!
Love with make its way
Along the paths of my nerves.
An emanation that I cannot control.
Indeed resistance will be futile!

When emotions get the better
Of a person.
I would want love to be the victor!
Grant me this sweet dance
Grant me the spoils!
Of such a conquest.
What a feast I shall plan
Once my love has its recipient.
