Loving You Poem by Uma Pochampalli Goparaju

Loving You

As the day reaches westwards
Stretching to hold her wards
Lazily the sky yawns and spreads
The dark blanket with stars

Another song left unheard
Another ray of hope transformed
Another game to be played
Moving with the speed of sound

I think, beyond the sunset in the West,
Is a daylight cooking to sprout in the East
When the dame of night sings her sonnet
Stars shine in glitter to perform tonight

Leaves lying around, under the oak trees
Rusty, yellow, brown or jaded green
As colors change this Fall, yet to be seen,
Who amidst all, plays the flute so melodious?

Wish I could deck you with jewels
Wish I could build you palaces to stay
Wish I could have the Midas touch,
What would it pay, if I cannot see you sway

Unlike yesterday, today is better spent
I learnt your love, your smile, your bent
On things that were never, ever meant
To steal your peace away, not a moment

Love to see you smile, with no worry at heart
Love to hear you sing with joy and happiness
Overflowing the rivers, mountains and skies,
With love towards the Creator, His creativity
