Low Down Man Poem by Mike Kosman

Low Down Man

There's a feeling all around you
Like some kind of evil spell
As you toast to your destruction
There within your private hell
Your eyes reflect the lonliness
And pain that lies beneath
While your body slowly dies
From the poison that you breath

Yesterday's companions
Are no where to be found
They were there to pull you up
You just tried to drag them down
You ride your road alone now
Nobody left to blame
Everybody's got your number
But nobody knows your name

Low down man I feel you tremble
I can hear your mournful call
You're way down at the bottem
With no place left to fall
Man I know your agony
As you bear your heavy load
Yes I know cause I've been down
That low down road

Maybe I got lucky
Maybe I got wise
Maybe through the hell I saw
Some love in someone's eyes
There's a time for taking
There's a time to give
It's a long way back from nowhere
But it's never too late to live
