Walking in the cold October rain
Down a dark and lonely highway
Not knowing where I am
Wondering if you ever really
Cared or gave a damn
I'm choking on my lonliness
Drowning in my pain
And walking in the cold October rain
Thinking about the way things might have been
Wishing I had realized
What I see clearly now
Maybe then we could have got along
And made it work somehow
Instead of watching all the good years
Going down the drain
And walking in the cold October rain
Years go by and seasons come and go
Autumn leaves have fallen
Winter winds have blown
And this nowhere kind of living
Is the only kind I've known
Even standing in the sunshine
The feeling is the same
As walking in the cold October rain
What a fine, genuine poem.Your mood resonates with the reader. Kindest regards, Sandra
