O mighty oak I've gazed at you
So strong and standing tall
Your massive branches in the wind
So high above us all
You've gently dropped your acorns
While I cooled within your shade
But now your life has ended
As I've watched you slowly fade
A lifetime you have been here
So majestic in your stand
You've witnessed all the changes
As you looked out on the land
But time has made you brittle
Yes the years have grown you old
You've been a great protecter
And a pleasure to behold
Farewell to you my noble friend
We now must say good bye
And as I take my saw to you
A tear comes to my eye
No longer must you brave the storms
No more shall you be stressed
I lay you down O mighty oak
Your time has come to rest
