Lyre As Lightning Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Lyre As Lightning

I have to take the lyre/
then as lightning/
the arrow of the verse comes/
I try to make it stay more/
but it flees as fast
as it had come/
that is the product of my lyre/
my lyre commands and the Muse/
the divine fire /
that does not quench over
long months, long years/
0 over long months, long years/
but not disturb the arrows of fires/
short lived fires/
the more short lived
in as direct proportion cutting red/
that's how I take the lyre/
that's how I be inspired/
that's how, that's how....
