Madoninmarch Poem by Francis Duggan

Madoninmarch

In view of Mt Tarrengower surrounding Maldon Town
The high partly wooded countryside is looking bare and brown
The kangaroos and wallabies hungry not much sustenance on grass brown and dry
And no sign of rain in the mostly blue sky
The creeks flowing at a trickle and the dams in water low
And on sun baked bare ground grass cannot grow
Worldwide of late the weather is acting so strange
For Global warming the price is high in Climate Change
Man created pollution on the Natural environment is taking it's toll
It does look like Global Warming is out of control
From months of drought conditions and sunshine and heat
No grass for the wildlife of Maldon to eat
The sun glowing bright in the mostly blue sky
And old Maldon is looking so bare and so dry.
