Maebel Poem by Emu Getachew

Maebel

Rating: 5.0

Drifted thoughts, drenched with confusion
stood naked from within
patiently removing each wave
rupturing each thought
floating, evaporating quickly
with fear of drowning
examining each wave
stepping on each veil of water
Claming each ebb tide...Maebel

Maebel...is an Amharic(language spoken by most people of Ethiopia) word for storm.

Hi Emu - this is a wonderful poem and a great tribute to the poewer of the Storm (Maebel) and the interaction of the rainwater with the seawater. The water cycle (rain to clouds - clouds to rain - rain to sea - sea to clouds) is tha most important natural cycle driven by the wind and the heat of the sun. In this poem you have captured some of its essence. Thank you for sharing - Love you through Poetry - JOHN.
