Maharathi Arjuna Poem by Purbesh Mahapatra

Maharathi Arjuna

When the golden Bharata
Was burdened in adharma
Lord Vishnu sent an arrow
From His golden bow Krishna
And named the arrow Arjuna

Son of the mighty Indra
Weilder of the Gandiva
The most admirable Pandava
The center of Mahabharata
The last great warrior of Dharma
The alter ego of Hrishikesha
The eternal friend of Narayana
The preacher of Satya Karma
The tallest hero of Kurukshetra
The slayer of Suryaputra Karna
The all powerful Phalguna

The fearless vanquisher the favourite pupil
Of the unconquerable Bhisma
The unrivaled archer the finest disciple
Of the infallible Drona
The knower of all music
The Lord of sleep
The fury of Shiva
The wisdom of Brahma
The mortal incarnation of Nara
In the all encompassing Tri Loka
There was never a Dhanurdhara
As the blessed valorous Dhananjaya

The most handsome man
Invulnerable as the Banyan
The final frontier of warfare
Never fought a battle unfair
The darling of immortal Gods
The conqueror of darkness
The winner of immeasurable wealth
The receptor of divine knowledge
The creator of fear
The divine enchanter
The ultimate lover
The paragon father
The Guru of Satyaki
Ardent son of Kunti
The subduer of enemy
The diffuser of sorcery
The master of Tantra
The teacher of Veda
The chosen knower of Vishwarupa
Partha the beloved of Vasudeva
Jishnu Vijaya Parantapa Shwetavahana
Apple of the eye of Madhusudana
