Making Mistakes Poem by Randy McClave

Making Mistakes

His phone rang in church by accident during prayer
The Pastor scolded him while he was there,
The worshippers then admonished him
Because, what he did they said was sacrilegious and grim.
He felt the guilt when during prayers he interrupting the silence
He felt though towards him they had directed violence,
His wife kept on lecturing him on his carelessness all the way home
How he wished away from her he could runaway or roam.
There was shame, embarrassment and humiliation on his face
Which he knew that no person could ever erase,
He never stepped foot in that church again
And many in his congregation under their breath gave an amen.

Later that evening, he went into a bar
As wanting to erase the mistake he made and the scar,
He was still hurt and nervous and still trembling
As the thoughts of those past memories he was still assembling.
He then spilled his drink by accident on the table
As his hands were still shaking and not stable,
The waiter apologized and gave him a napkin to clean himself
Then he picked up his glass to place it on a shelf.
The janitor then mopped up the floor
He felt so sad and embarrassed he wanted to walk out the door,
Then before a second thought he could think
The female manager offered him a complimentary drink.

The manager gave him a hug and a kiss while saying
'Don't worry man, who doesn't make mistakes while obeying",
He has never stopped going to that bar ever since then
He said and believed, that it was a true omen.
Here is the lesson that we must all learn in life
While living and learning we will all get burnt and we will all get strife,
Sometimes our attitude as believers drives souls away from Church
Then for that special feeling we will then begin a new search.
Attitudes breaks relationships, and our families it can destroy
When we treat feelings as just a personal toy,
We make a difference on people when we help those when their soul breaks
Especially, when they make mistakes.
