Malnourished Poem by Ibn Ali

Malnourished

You can't walk to dreams
You can't swim to aspiration
You have to glide
It's a form of flight that needs patience
Plumes flutter
To beat your wings would cause further inflammation
Life's journey is long
You can't control the wind
Sometimes the storms are devastating
Sometimes so slight you feel you're lost within
We need substance
We have more but are worth less
You'd see a man obese and yet malnourished
A man unwise
But holds the whole of human knowledge in his hand
That he pockets
Books are antiquated
More correspondence with less meaning in the message
And how we all love to argue
And have opinions
This media's antisocial
We sell our souls for likes
But like to stay unsold
And promote the things we lack
We're sold so many lies
Yet we buy until we're broke
Then we borrow to rebuy
It's like we ask for rope
As if we seek to breach the skies
But we haven't even reached the full potential of our minds
