Mama's Boy - Poem by Diantha Gray

Look what you’ve done!
Yes, “He’s a wonderful man,
he’ll do anything for you…
…anything he can”.
Brought up well, YEAH!
right next to his mama,
kept under your wing,
avoidance of drama.
Unknowingly bred
into self-righteous pride,
as he clings on to you
I bet you’re smiling inside.
You are all that he has
no one else can replace…
You make up his world
and you’re a slap in my face.
You’ll never admit,
and neither will he,
that love can exist
while leaving you be.
Clouding his world
with a narcissistic rage,
NO ONE comes before you
in your embryonic stage.
I’m taking a choice
to be on my own
A simple decision
that shows how I’ve grown.
