Man About Town Poem by Francis Duggan

Man About Town

He is better known as the man about town
And he does pride himself in his local renown
Though he is oblivious to or so it does seem
That many do not hold him in high esteem
To say he is narcissistic would not be a lie
Amongst his favourite subjects are me, myself and I
My wife and my family my great job and my car
He does take love of self just that little bit far
But people like him are not or were never rare
Their unsolicited life success stories with others they love for to share
They don't see themselves as boring or over the top
Obsessed with self they talk of themselves non stop
With his wife and children the main street he drives up and down
The fellow referred to as man about town.
