nature is always silent
it is cool

man steps in
and cuts and kills
and wastes

it proclaims its
power

rain and thunder
and lightning
and flood
and mud

nature steps in there too
takes what
it can

man shouts and curses
women wail
children are buried
some are lost
unaccounted
and never heard of again

nature is back to sleep
and does not mind
