Man In The Balance Poem by Richard (Narad) Eggenberger

Man In The Balance

Man In the Balance

Strawberries in the fields
Blueberries in the swamp,
All that Nature yields
Bears that Godlike stamp.
Walnuts in the fall
Found among the leaves
Now earth in sorrow grieves
For beauty she has lost
To man's abhorrent greed
Who reckons not the cost
To sate his endless need.
A new force has come down,
Man's fate no longer sure
A spiritual pauper grown
For being so impure
May seek for evermore
What once alone was his
When divinity he bore
And suffered Godhead's kiss.
