Man's Flight Poem by Tirupathi Chandrupatla

Man's Flight

Flying over the mountains
Soaring over the valleys
The airplane keeps moving
At thirty thousand feet.

I sit quietly in comfort
Reading a book of verse
Munching a snack served
Looking out the window.

The pilot in the cockpit
Monitors the controls
Making this long journey
A joyride for one and all.

It was over a century ago
Wright brothers were right
In foreseeing the future
Of air paths for travel.

No roads need to be laid
Only airports for handling
People, takeoff and landing
Reliable aircraft created.

World has shrunk to a small
Sphere that can be covered in
Just hours, not days anymore
As birds envy man's flight.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

It was the birds who inspired man to fly. Man seems to have outdone them in speed and made distances far too shorter. A great write, Sir.

Great Scientists and inventors, after years of relentless brain work and research have facilitated man's life with umpteen comforts! What the Wright brothers did for mankind has revolutionized the very mode of transport and in the duration of one or two days we can reach the other end of the globe! Enjoyed this poem on air travel!
