Mannequin - Poem by ERI CGP

Think for me
I'm incapable
Of making a sound decision
Or muddled in indecision
God knows, the last thing
We need is more misery.

Dress me up
And pretend I'm somebody else
Only with a different face
A nicer disposition
Existing on a moral plane
Not trying to drain you
Of your uniqueness
God forbid, I'm rebellious
For all the right reasons.

Talk for me
I can't string a sentence together
Without pregnant pauses
My voice doesn't carry
It holds no one's attention
And it must irritate you
That I have no commanding presence
I have no desire to
Be the center of the universe.

Pick my partner for life
For you believe I can't
Discern between right and wrong
Ugliness and beauty
You had a vision and
I'm slowly destroying it
Bit by bit
You can't run the show
All the damn time.

Save for me
Take the money
Be frugal and
Don't have any fun with it
It's all business
And intensely serious
Wisdom comes through mistakes
And I've made plenty
I'm trying and slowly realizing
Happiness for them
Is dependent on what they
Want from and for me
Isn't it obvious that I'm just a dummy?
Whose strings are constantly pulled?
