Many Ways That Our Cats Drink Water Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

We have six free roaming cats
They came from the same litter
Two brothers and three sisters
But in drinking, they differ.

Two oldest males are bigger
With BlackPearl, first born, their leader
Who loves to drink spouting water
That comes from a water-fountain.

When there is no spouting water
He stirs water with his right front paw
He creates vibration circles
Then, he drinks water ripples.

When other cats drink bowl water
They spoon water with their tongues
But, when Timida drinks her bowl water
She spoons water with her right front paw.

She drinks the same way with pool water
There, Lydia imitates this same behavior.
All other cats lower their shoulders
And they spoon water with their tongues.

All cats enjoy drinking Koi pond water
That flows from a waterfall, night and day
And gives refreshing aerated water.
Will Timida drink with her same behavior?

When she was a kitten
Ashes loved to drink spouting water
Now, two house cats drink the same manner
Because there is only bowl water.

NHỮNG CÁCH MÈO UỐNG NƯỚC KHÁC NHAU

Sáu mèo ở cùng nhau
Năm con chung một mẹ
Ba gái và hai trai
Khác nhau khi uống nước

Hai con trai lớn nhất
BlackPearl là trưởng đoàn
Nó mê uống nước chảy
Từ vòi nước phun ra.

Khi nào không nước chảy
Nó dùng chân khuấy mau
Mặt nước sóng lăn nhanh
Thế rồi mèo uống nước.

Bốn mèo kia uống nước
Dùng lưỡi múc như thìa
Timida dùng chân
Nước chân này, nó mút.

Hồ bơi, nó dùng chân
Lydia bắt chước.
Bốn mèo khác cúi vai
Lưỡi uốn cong làm thìa.

Mèo thích uống hồ Koi
Thác nước chảy ngày đêm
Và dưỡng khí tăng thêm
Làm sao Timida uống?

Ngày xưa còn bé nhỏ
