Marbles Poem by Jay Porter

Marbles

Rating: 5.0

I
Tat, tat, tat, down the alleyway.
Soaring marbles, having fun.
Gone, gone, gone, are the days we play.

II
Rat, rat, rat, you gave me away.
Because of you, I can't run.
Tat, tat, tat, down the alleyway

III
I can't, I can't, I can't, keep my heart at bay.
Sat, sat, sat, shade from the sun.
Gone, gone, gone, are the days we play.

IV
Bad, bad, bad, let's get away.
Run, run, run, from everyone.
Tat, tat, tat, down the alleyway.

V
Say, say, say, that we should stay.
Hide, hide, hide, from the sheriff's gun.
Gone, gone, gone, are the days we play.

VI
Gone, gone, gone, you went away.
I hope you're happy where you stay.
Tat, tat, tat down the alleyway.
Gone, gone, gone, are the days we play.

Reads very well Jay. I find myself interested in piecing a story together from it. Nice rhythm almost a skipping rope beat. I hope the memories are fond ones.
