Saving Throws Poem by Jay Porter

Saving Throws

Rating: 5.0

It happens, things end
The difference between us is
The distance between mars and venus
You should have seen us.

Forget fact, is that saying supposed to save my sanity?
Worthless words to put a man at ease
To forget the tragedy, I guess it's just that easy
the thing we had is we, turned each other's worlds upside down despite gravity
What makes me mad, are the words repeating rapidly
You're not here.
You said I'd leave, it was, your fear
You whispered that into MY ear
The future you preached was a lie
Now I sit here. Broken ties with swollen eyes..
Broken ties? We don't talk to each other despite wanting to stay friends
My heart is broken, my mind is burning, you were my godsend

I hate the meaning of that indication, It was smooth like stone, but it was only caused by abrasion.
I'm getting off, I'm done, I like being at the wrong station, consider this a resignation, I'm leaving.
For a long and much needed vacation.

If this is factual you have expressed yourself in an unusually vivid way. I was touched. I had a couple of youthful crushes but the reason they did not last came to fruition. We are observing our 62nd wedding anniversary. Please do not stop writing. You have a strong talent.
