Marcus Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Marcus

I am joyous today because,
I have given birth to a son for my husband;
For he who is called Marcus is very glad today.

Of the shades of yellow, brown, green and red;
Of the shades of black, white, blue and orange;
I am very joyous today because of you Marcus.

Of the laborious process,
In Medieval and Byzantine times;
Today i have given birth to a son for my husband.

Of the fruits, vases, butterflies, birds, animals and the landscapes;
Of the love, peace, care, kindness, hope, and the dreams;
For he who is callled Marcus is very glad today.
