Marjan Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Marjan

Marjan

Sit, listen to "Marjan, "
In Farsi means: "Coral."

Knew her, not as much,
Became toy, and was carved,
To be used in chess game,
No more than simple pawn.

Married a famous man,
Ended in cinema,
Played the Aphrodite,
Statue: "Sex-symbol."

Her husband was jealous,
Scissors cut, divided,
She married another…

Influenced by husband,
Was showered by friends,
To think of poor people,
Seek justice to help them.

In changing government,
Carter helped in open,
In secret, CIA!

Ecstasy was short lived,
Shepherd showed true face,
The bad wolf used it fangs,
He butchered freedom,
Changed sunrise to sunset!

I, singer, sobs in pain,
Both were jailed, prisoned,
Escaped to no-where-ness!

I feel the knee on neck,
I feel the "Beat to death! "
I feel and burns conscious,
I feel the court, judgement,
I feel the handcuffed, jailed.

I have been a deprived,
And cadet, and above…

Having been all around
From farm to the palace
Am Black, Brown, White!

Had my time with menu,
Ordering the best food,
Also lived in shanty,
With labor, hungry!

Picture me as a jar
Vinegar is content,
With garlic as guest,
Bubbling, Pickling!

See kneeing officer,
He teaches students!

Power kills the brain,
Power makes us heartless,

Power is corruption!
Power is corruption!
Power is corruption!

In exile, died Marjan,
Exactly like Big Bear,
We die of depression!

She is not only one!
Read of noose in Iran,
See Dubai and Riyadh,
Natives of Americas!

These motions stir me,
Salt on wound is Killing:
"Why to keep murdering? "

Remember Trotsky:
"Our morals, their morals! "
