Marketplace Poem by james watkin

Marketplace

A gathering of hungers'
Wide-mouthed haggling.
Each item, hands' rough clamber
Contesting o'er.

Softened, with the speech, of mixed
Tongues, that bend not
By what sweet appeals, gourd-bourne
As a new-born.
