Marrow N Bones - Poem by Half Past

at the lament
of your body spent
i sip of the remains
slowly lapping skin from frame
fingernails scratching course lines
in your carcass that once was fine
all days ended on the morrow
the day i had to eat your marrow
deeply sown was my sorrow
as flew from perch the sullen sparrow
bleached bones from acid inside
on her corpse my trade i plied
to keep my memory of you clean
licked every inch to a visible sheen
oh so pristine
is the sheen
over your body
i've licked clean
stuffed and ready to shine
so over your corpse did i pine
at my lament
the day you left
your body spent
