I enjoyed this poem of yours the most of the 3 you posted today; the way you play your loneliness against your aunt's. Its got a poignant sadness to it. You remind me in this poem of Winslow Homer's picture of the lonely sailor in a dismasted vessel, stoically accepting his fate as the sharks circle menacingly about him.
Well, of course I love poems with the name Mary in it.......but, aside from that, this was a wonderful poem! Normally I won't finish a poem this long (short attention span) but this one kept my attention and really made me love your Aunt. What a great moment in time you've captured. Nice job. Sincerely, Mary
