Mask Poem by Mark Otieno

Mask

Rating: 3.8

Which mask should i wear today?
That will hide away my pain
I'll pick the one with a smile
What if i start to cry?
I'll pick the one with a laugh
What if its not enough?
Am running out of options
I need to hide my emotions
What if i hide behind a closed door?
But am not sure i want to be alone
Am confused right now
That's why i'll wear a frown
I'll walk around the street
And ignore what anyone will think
I just want to be myself
I want to be me

Good poem Mark. Perfect premise and philosophy. All humans wear masks daily as we move along. Even at death, we have a death mask.
