Mask Poem by Marisa Unknown

Mask

You bandage your problems
you're at your lowest high.
You keep your tears in,
you zipper your eyes.
You wear a mask,
you're in disguise.
All because of your growing lies.

Your wounds scar up and you shed your skin.
Your memories pass with the silent wind.

You reveal your face
for your mask has worn thin,
But now they've got you terribly pinned.
Your lies, they unravel,
and they know you've sinned.

The months go by and you've grown tougher skin.
You come out from hiding and reveal a grin.
You unbandage your problems
You no longer sin.
you unzipper your eyes,
You take off your broken mask
you're no longer in disguise.
You forget your growing lies.
